Unlock Your Motorola Cliq 2
The Motorola Cliq 2 was released in January 2011
. Its design is very close to the original Motorola Cliq cellphone, but has been modified with a chrome surround and curved soft touch plastic back. A few other notable upgrades are a bigger display screen, faster data, improved music player, a fantastic slide-out keyboard, new Android Operating-system, and much more. This is also a very good social-networking smartphone due to a number of great social networking widgets supplied by Motoblur. The mobile phone can work on 2G Networks (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) and 3G Networks (HSDPA 1700 / 2100 / 850).
A few major features on this mobile phone consist of a 1 GHz processor, 1 Gb of integrated storage space (plus an external microSD card slot that could support up to 32 Gigabytes of additional storage), and 512 Megabytes of RAM. Its measurements are 116 x 59.6 x 14.5 millimeters, weighs 175 grams, has a 3.7 inch (~265 ppi pixel density) TFT capacitive touch screen with 256K colors, 5 Mega-pixel auto-focus dual-LED flash camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v2.1, microUSB v2.0, Gps, and works on the Android v2.2 Froyo Operating system.
In the event that you got this cellphone and decided to change carrier, or perhaps you're traveling and wish to use the phone with a different simcard, you will need to unlock the phone. If you do not unlock it, an error message will appear on the phone as soon as you insert a new simcard.
Below are the instructions you will need to unlock your Motorola Cliq 2:
1. Insert a non-accepted simcard (a simcard that is not from the original service provider). Turn on phone.
2. The phone wont recognise the new sim and will request a subsidy password.
3. Key in your unlock code. If you dont have an unlock code, have a look at the bottom of this article for instructions on where to get one.
4. Your phone is now unlocked.
Note: If your phone is on a 3G network, type **057* then enter the unlock code into the window that appears.
The moment the unlock code has been typed in and accepted, your phone will be unlocked permanently. You may then put in a simcard from just about any provider and your cell phone should instantly acquire the network. In some cases you might need to modify certain settings on your phone (e-mail along with other web affiliated services) by simply pointing them to your new service provider.
