Upsc Ias Preparation Competition And Tips
IAS Exam (Also called Civil service examination) Is conducted Every year by UPSC
(Union Public Service commission) for recruitment of officers for various Civil services of India . Indian Administrative service (IAS), Indian Police service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS) are three Central civil services .
IAS Exam is noramally considered to be the toughest and the most Competitive exam so the students normally find it very tough to go through. Every year Lakhs of students compete for appointment in about less than 1000 seats in the prestigious civil services of India (having a success ratio of as low as about .2 %).
The wide approach for this exam is that it is out of range and is held for a specific group of students that have some extraordinary skill to crack this exam. Thus most students fail not because the exam is tough, but because they did not do their IAS preparation efficiently because of a wrong concept in mind regarding the toughest of the exam.
Now take a firm look at the stats for 2008 IAS exam as below,
Number of Candidates applied for the exam- 3, 18,843(Three lakh eighteen thousand eight hundred forty three)
Number of Candidates appeared for the exam- 1,67,035(One lakh sixty seven thousand thirty five) (Success ratio gets doubled)
So we observe that half of the people backed away before the battle began.
Also, out of the 1, 67,035, only 40,000 were Serious and dedicated, rest ones didnt prepare at all due to the wrong concept in their mind or they went to take the exam just because their parents pressure, they werent at all prepared. So half the battle is won if we have the right concept in mind about the competition in the exam and success can definitely be ensured!!!
Again, out of the remaining 40,000, 10,283 were selected for the next level, mains exam (here 1 out of every 4 is selected i.e. a high success ratio for 25%), and 1582 were then selected for the final interview, and finally, 791 out of those 1582 were selected for the prestigious civil services.
So cheers!! The success ratio At every stage is very high. All that is needed is a right concept and dedicated, proper preparation.
All The Best for your Success!!!!
