Urd Field, Norway, Commercial Asset Valuation and Forecast to 2019 - Urd field is located north east of the Norne field in the Norwegian Sea in Norway. Urd was discovered in the year 2000. The Urd satellite field was tied back to the Norne field in 2005. Urd comprises two oil deposits- 6608/10-6 Str and 6608/10-8 Svale, which are satellites of the Norne field. Str is located 5km north of the Norne field and Svale is located 10km to the north of Norne. The water depth in the area is approximately 380m.

StatoilHydro ASA is the operator of the field. The other equity partners of the field are Eni Norge AS and Petoro AS.

The field has total recoverable reserves of about 54.72 million barrels of oil. The oil is produced through water injection and gas lift. The production in 2009 was 2.29 million barrels of oil.

The field life of Urd is expected to be around 15 years with complete abandonment during 2019. The field is expected to generate $2.37 billion in revenues (undiscounted) during its remaining life (starting January 1, 2010) and is expected to yield an IRR of around 17.77%.
