Condylox is a topical medication used for the treatment of genital warts. You need to apply this medication on the affected area, as prescribed by your doctor. Generally, it is applied once in the morning and then in the evening for a period of 3 days. After this, a rest of 4 days is given and then the cycle is started again. This treatment should be continued for a period of 4 weeks and if your warts are not treated even after 4 weeks, you should contact your doctor.

How to apply it?

Use your fingertips to apply this cream on the affected area. Take only a small amount of Condylox, which should be enough to cover the affected area. Wash your hands before and after application. Generally, this medication has no side effects but your skin might get irritated around the application site. Do not use it more than prescribed. Start by using a small amount. Ensure that you use it for the time period for which it is prescribed. Avoid application near the eyes or even touching your eyes with hands with which it has been applied. Always wash your hands after application before you touch other body parts. Do not use Condylox gel or solution in your vagina, urethra or rectum. If warts have developed within the folds of the skin, spread the skin gently and apply Condylox. Allow the skin to dry before you allow it to fold back. If skin irritation or any other side effects starts bothering you, stop using this drug and contact the doctor immediately. Talk freely with your doctor if you have any questions about this drug.

Precautions

Avoid using this drug if you are allergic to any of its ingredients, especially podofilox. Do not use any type of medication or drug that is not approved by your doctor. This FDA approved drug falls under category C. It is not known if this drug harms the unborn baby. Tell your doctor if you are or planning to become pregnant. Do not use this medication even if you are breastfeeding as it may pass into your breast milk and harm the baby.
