Use The Help To Get More In Your Fishing

Somebody feels puzzled that why of the many leisure sport activities today

, fishing is perhaps the most relaxing and popular. The sea, flowing streams or rivers are some of the places where fishing can be done; however, lake fishing is the favorite among them all to most anglers. Lake fishing can be done in two ways - boat fishing and fishing from shore. The techniques involved in both these types of lake fishing differ from one another.

Boat fishing - delivers more effective results among these two types of lake fishing, and is also the more relaxing of the two. It includes fishing techniques like forward and reverse trolling, casting, drift fishing and using down riggers. Trolling is the preferred choice of most anglers when boat fishing, even though there are other techniques used to catch different species of fish. Trolling is when the boat moves forward slowly, pulling a single lure or several lures behind it. Reverse trolling is very similar to forward trolling; the only difference being that in reverse trolling, the boat moves in the opposite direction, and at a fairly slower pace.

Trolling motors are fitted to most boats, and because of their near-silent nature, anglers are able to traverse the lake silently and slowly without perturbing the fish. Anglers find it more convenient to cast lures in places most likely to have more fish present when using boats fitted with trolling motors. Lake fishing off a boat is a great way to catch fish; however, as hiring a boat is an expensive proposition, try hiring a pontoon boat or inflatable kayak instead. These options are quite effective and far less costly than traditional boats.

Shore fishing - eliminates the need to buy or hire a boat which is costly, and is therefore the preferred choice of anglers. Among the different techniques used for fishing from shorelines, the most popular one is 'still fishing'. This technique involves the fishing line fitted with hook/s attached with bait, floater (stopper) and a sinker. Above the hook/s and sinker is where the floater is secured, to avoid the possibility of the sinker moving down to the bait. Using multiple hooks for this rig is more effective than using just one as the bait will appear more natural to the fish. After casting this rig and giving it enough time to sink, the angler then reels in the slack line slowly to lure and catch fish.

Walking along a shoreline, while casting a number of lures at different places, is another lake fishing technique that is popular with most anglers. However, some shores have bushes which make it difficult for the angler to walk along the shore, so this technique may not always be possible. Lake fishing using these techniques is a wonderful way to enjoy a relaxed weekend.
