Let someone else pay for the first two years of depreciation on a car. You can buy it when it's two years old for thousands less than the original sticker price.
If you are young, or just starting out on your own, start building a positive credit history early. Apply for just one credit card and pay it off each month. This way you won't get into debt, and your credit score will begin to rise, as you show that you can use credit wisely and make timely payments.
When it comes to taking care of your home, a little maintenance will go a long way. Avoid waiting until major repairs are needed. Instead, regularly replace filters, pipes, wires and other elements as recommended. This will save you the cost of hiring a professional contractor or repairman to complete a major repair service.
Refinance your major purchases if you need to. Get pre-approved for a mortgage before you purchase a new home and think about refinancing your vehicle, too. Watch out for high interest rates, and do not refinance your possessions if you do not really need to, since you will end up paying interest rates.
If you feel like you can not possibly cut one more penny from your personal budget, consider the possibility that you might be right. Sometimes, you just have to start making or finding more money.
