CRM for iPad is an acronym for Customer Relationship Management and of course the iPad is the next mobile device after the iPhone created by Apple and introduced in 2010. The iPad is one of the series of tablet computers that have been introduced recently that is not intended to replace the laptop or a personal or business computer. A tablet computer is also not intended to be a notebook either. It has no ports or audio attachment places. It is intended as a companion to more powerful applications such as the office computer or a personal computer. It does not even have a camera which has been criticized but it does have a microphone to make a voice recording.
A CRM for iPad is a software program that in a way could be presented as an office in an iPad. CRM for iPad encompasses many of the earlier computer software programs that were designed to assist a business to run more efficiently. It combines some of the original business programs abilities such as monitoring and recording sales data and sales calls. Earlier programs were pretty much limited to this sort of activity. Then later business software programs which could deal with sales territories, sales opportunities tied to those territories and it could address the sales pipeline itself. So that various stages of the solicitation of the prospective customer were entered into the business program database and duly recorded for others to read and perhaps take action on.
Earlier software programs were pretty much limited to laptops because mobile devices as introduced in 1993 by Apple specifically the Apple Newton MessagePad which was then followed by the next major step in the evolution of the PDA otherwise know as a Personal Digital Device was the Palm Pilot which was followed by the next step the Blackberry. With the Blackberry which could manage tasks, contacts, calendar events and some basic computer functions, the world of mobile devices really exploded. Then Apple introduced the iPhone and in 2010 the iPad which has many CRM software applications devised for it specifically. In fact, a company that handles high wealth customers such as a wealth management department of a bank or for customers of a high end realty company, a crm programmed iPad could be a way of getting information to the client. Simply pre-load the program with a product portfolio of whatever the company is selling and give it to the client as an incentive. It will make an impact on many clients and customers or prospective customers.
A sales person could have some of the products that the company sells loaded onto the crm program and then when they are selling a product the iPad could be handed to them for a product demonstration. Because the iPad has a 9.7 inch screen it is easily seen. It makes a powerful marketing and sales tool with many uses besides a simply recordation of the sales persons sales calls progress which is input into the device.
