Using A Hard Surface Steam Cleaner When You Have Pets

Keeping your home clean when you have pets can be a particular challenge

. Not only do they make a lot of mess, but you don't want to use dangerous chemicals where they may end up licking them up or otherwise coming into contact with them. Using a portable steam cleaner for your hard surfaces can help keep your home looking as clean as it was before you had any animals living with you, while avoiding the use of cleaning solutions.

A steam mop, or the floor attachments on a portable device, does a great job at getting up hair off your floors. They usually have microfiber pads on the bottom that do a great job of collecting them, that with the hot moisture coming out of the machine makes sure that all the hair gets picked up. These pads are reusable, too, so you won't need to keep buying new supplies to keep your floors clean.

If your pet spends a lot of time in the windows there is a squeegee attachment on most units that make cleaning windows and mirrors a lot easier. This is one area that with traditional methods is hard to really get clean without chemicals, and the steam cleaner makes that possible---which is great for the dog that sticks their nose against the window.

Your pets kennel, or carrier, can get very dirty over time. With pet hair, mud from outside, and other build up this area can be a real chore. With the detail brushes and other attachments it can get a little bit easier, though. This is one area where I really hate to use any chemicals because the animals will be spending a lot of time here, but you need to do a lot of cleaning, so having a machine can be a real relief.

In all of these ways and more using a hard surface steam cleaner when you have pets can be a real convenient way to make sure your house stays clean, and your pets stay safe.
