Using A Podcast In Your Marketing Campaign

In any marketing campaign you should use every resource available to you

. This not only includes all of the traditonal marketing routes: direct marketing, blogging, article marketing and all other print mediums. You must also use any audio and video resources you can locate. Video marketing is very popular now with the use of You-tube and many free video editing and producing software packages made with the Internet marketeter in mind. One of the most under-used resources is making and marketing a podcast.

Podcasts are one of the best ways to not only get your message out to the world, but also get your voice and face out there too. Some of you may be asking, "What is a podcast exactly?" Well, briefly, it is an audio or video blog that only your subscribers can watch either through an online stream or through an option to directly download it right from the podcast website.

There are several reasons that Internet marketers would use this medium to cover all aspects of their niche. I am now going to cover the main reasons:

- Get your voice out there: Video is not the only way to use podcasts and an audio podcast is sometimes better anyhow. People can download these or stream them on their portable music player and play these types of podcast anywhere. This is an advantage that audio has over video. People can listen to it in their cars, on walks, or while stuck on the train, a bus or a flight. All you have to have with you is a music player. Who nowadays does not have at least a small mp3 player? Practically no body and this is a very large market you should tap into.

- Get your face out there: This is a much more visual medium and it will allow you to show more to the customer, especially if you are an Internet marketer and are never far from your laptop. This medium allows prospective customers to see you - to put a face to the text they have read or the voice they have heard. Now if you want to just show your product and not show your face, that is very possible too. There are pieces of software out there that let you just have video of screen capture and your voice over it. This way you can show and explain how to use the product and do proper demos of the products for customers.

With the popularity of podcasting, we are seeing more and more bloggers doing podcasting. A podcast can be a good supplement to a traditional blog. You can blog in the traditional way and then also offer a prodcast of those same blog posts for people on the go or readers that do not have time to stop and read all your blog posts. This is yet another way to drive traffic and market your blog.
