The IP address tells a network resource where you are, how to get to you and what you are. An IP address location is sometimes the best possible thing to have if you're having trouble with someone online. The Internet sometimes gives people a lot of power due to the anonymity it provides. When they abuse this, the consequences can be dire for their victims. Identity theft, digital attacks and harassment are only some of the problems that are caused by Internet miscreants.

Writing their ISP and reporting the abuse will likely result in the ISP cutting off their service or at least giving them a warning that might persuade them to quit and prey on someone else.

Some of them are even integrated with browsers in ways that allow you to do a website trace right from the browser itself. The website trace provides the same information as an IP trace, but it the information is specific to the website and, sometimes, will even include the website owner's name.

An IP address location can be enormously helpful if you're being harassed online. If you have a netw9rk set up and you're continually being attacked, you can trace back the original address of the attacks and make sure that the ISP is notified. In the worst cases, you may just want to contact law enforcement and file a complaint with them.

The IP address location will give you everything you need to go after someone who is going after you over the Internet. The software that provides this ability is very inexpensive and well worth the investment for what it offers.
