For making these transducers piezoelectric materials are used and these can be barium titanate or lead zirconate titanate; at times ferrite and nickel is also used. You can use plain water for cleaning but there are solvents which are designed to make this cleaning procedure more effective. Some solvents reduce surface tension and also increase the level of cavitation. Some cleaning solutions may contain wetting agents and detergents to enhance the cleaning process. Cleaning solutions are warmed before using and there is standard temperature which is followed. You should avoid using bleach and strong acids which might damage the cleaner. These can also damage sensitive items.

Some machines recycle cleaning fluids specially those fluids which are made from hydrocarbons. These machines generally have three tanks. The lower tank stores the dirty fluid and the fluid is heated here. The refrigeration coil is present at the top. The evaporated fluid condenses and then gets collected in the tank situated above. The cleaning of the condensed fluid takes place here and then the cleaned fluid moves towards the work tank. The price of these machines is slightly higher than the simple machines which are used for cleaning.
