Using Branded Clothing To Your Advantage
One of the big buzzwords in the business world at the moment is your brand
. The American Marketing Association Dictionary describes a brand as the "Name, term, design, symbol, or any other feature that identifies one seller's good or service as distinct from those of other sellers." Creating a brand identity means that you can control the way that your clients and potential clients view your business. Part of your brand identity is creating and using a logo that becomes visual stimuli for both existing and potential clients.
If you think about the worlds most recognisable brands, they use their corporate logo wherever possible so that it becomes a visual trigger. This means that their name and logo stays in peoples heads a lot longer than companies that use their logo less frequently and less obviously.
One of the ways that you can do this is by using branded clothing for your staff. When your customers receive good service and your companys logo is right in front of them, it will make them associate a positive feeling with your companys brand. This creates a stronger mental connection and makes it more likely that they will use you again.
Having your companys name and logo on your staffs uniforms can also encourage a sense of unity and company pride as well as a feeling of belonging to the same workforce. If you are displaying your companys name on your chest, you are more likely to want to do a better job. It can install a sense of responsibility and consciousness as it reinforces that your staff, especially front of house and waiting staff, are the face of your business.
Using branded clothing also means that you instantly create a work uniform that everybody can feel comfortable with. For example, you can allow your members of staff to choose to wear trousers, skirts or black jeans so they feel as though they have a choice and some of their own identity in their work uniform. Providing that they wear the same top with your company logo, they will still look like a team and dont look mismatched or untidy, whilst still feeling comfortable and relaxed. Image is everything when it comes to giving a good first impression of your business, so this is a good way of doing it.
What people often forget is that branded clothing can also be free advertising. Most people wear their work uniform whilst they are travelling to work, so dozens of people will see your logo on them on the bus, train or walking down the street without having to spend extra money on advertising.
Even though we are still in a tough economic climate, the work wear market has grown significantly in recent years, which suggests that more and more companies are becoming aware of how they can use branded clothing to their advantage.
Using branded clothing is a simple, yet effective way to improve both the image of your business and the attitude of those who work in it. It also helps solidify your company as a brand and makes it instantly more recognizable.
