Using Custom Socks for Promotional Use

The world thrives on marketing today and custom socks are also promotional items

that are the latest rage amongst companies promoting their brand name! But before going into the marketing gimmicks and intricacies let us have a thorough feel into what a custom sock is actually and how does it differ from a conventional sock that you use.

Socks are basically footwear worn over the feet to keep us warm and absorb all the sweat that is produced down there. (The sweat glands in our feet are often hyperactive!) They are also the prerequisites to wearing a shoe, provide comfort and elegantly hide our otherwise bad feet! Jokes apart, socks are one important clothing accessory, especially in the winter countries where one needs to stay warm and cozy. Feet are considered as the most important part to cover and keep warm to be comfortable. (Have you ever realized that you can't rest or sleep with cold feet?)

When Socks become Promotional Items

Socks are the one of the most worn items of clothing throughout the world. Be it cotton, nylon, or even woolen, socks are a must have for people of all ages. Right from the infant to the golden oldies! This necessity was seen to be an ideal marketing and advertising area and at the same time please the crowd by offering them free socks; so what if they were for promotional use? Unless the promotional socks were too hideous or resembled one from the Jester's courts, it could be safely worn over the feet!

Really tiny miniature socks which double up as a key ring.

Socks which could be hung from the Christmas tree

Socks which are a part of a team's clothing; be it your cheerleader's team!

Socks as corporate gift items along with some really cool office wear and accessories.

Sock can have the following sizes:

Quarter socks

Ankle length socks (same as quarter length but also known by the previous name in some countries)

Calf length socks as used in tennis.

Tube socks used in sports like football and are quite firm and flexible at the same time to accommodate shin guards and similar stuff.

Now, depending on the promotional strategy, different sized socks can be distributed which has the brand and the logo of the company associated with the promotion. For example, tube socks could be distributed to football teams as a promotional accessory that would eventually advertise the company as well as serve the purpose of a football sock used by footballers. This strategy has recently caught the attention of mainstream marketing where companies are looking beyond T-shits and shorts used in sports!

Custom socks if ordered, requires to be ordered in bulk. Because the sock is not like a T-shirt on which a logo can be printed' later, orders are taken before the sock is actually made. This is interesting because once the logo is knitted' into the sock; there is no way one can remove that, unless he shreds off that part!
