Using Dee Rings

Dee rings are those little rings shaped like the letter D

, so that must be where they got their name. Once you start looking for them, you will find them all over the place. They are very versatile and can be creatively used on many different things.

Creative people attach them to the ends of fabric strips to make colorful belts. I use them on apron neck straps to I can easily slide the strap over my head, then tighten it as desired. I have also used them on the back straps of men's vests so they can be adjusted to fit different sized people.

These rings come in many different styles, sizes and strengths. They can be light weight plastic, or heavy duty metal rings. When picking out the right ring, consider the strength it will need for the job to be done.

These rings can be secured to solid objects by using a metal or fabric strap to bind it to the object. Heavy duty rings are used in theaters to suspend scenery so it can be moved up and down. They are also used on the ends of tow ropes and chains.

These rings are often found on bridles and saddles used on horses. Climbing and scuba gear also use these kinds of rings. They are even on some kinds of riffles.

You will most likely find them on purses, luggage, back packs and fanny packs. Dog collars and leashes use them so clips can be easily attached. They are great for attaching straps or giving a place to clip something else on.

You can see that these little rings are very versatile and really are used all over the place. Just remember when you select one, to make sure the strength and type of ring matches what you need it to do. Plastic rings work well for things that will be subjected to a lot of water, such as clothing that will be laundered.

You can use these rings singly to give a way to hang or clip something. You can use them in pairs so the belt or strap can be wound between the two and pulled to tighten. Just look around and see how many places you can use them.
