Using Semi-precious Beads To Create Original Jewellery Designs

For centuries beautiful natural semi-precious stones have been used in the art of

original jewellery making and so it continues with all the new fashions and now modern and contemporary designs can be found with this lovely stones as well as more traditional pieces.

When you come to make your own individual piece of original jewellery you might like to add other beads in to the designs along with your semi-precious beads like silver spacer beads and bead caps and you can also add crystals to add sparkle and shine or freshwater pearls and both pearls and crystals work perfectly with these lovely stones enhancing their natural colours. There are many of these stones that you can use in endless combinations to create your unique designs and dont be afraid to play around with colours and designs and mix the stones up. Add Black Onyx with Turquoise to achieve a very dramatic look, the stunning deep rich blue of Lapis Lazuli look amazing when placed next to Green Aventurine and the purple of Amethyst. With some practise you will be creating bracelets, necklace jewellery, rings, jewellery sets and necklaces.

If it is not a beaded design that you would like you are able to find many metal setting, gold, silver and metal alloys that all you have to do is add your favourite semi-precious stones and these will usually be in the form as a cabochon which is a flat backed domed bead that you will purchase in the size that is appropriate for the setting and then this will be glued into the setting with an epoxy resin and this is a simple method of producing original jewellery designs.
