If nothing else, you don't know if this doctor is even still in practice. So make sure you pick a recent experience before you start writing. Once you decide which doctor you want to write about, you then need to choose a website to post your review on. Simply choosing your favorite search engine and typing in "doctors reviews" will probably do the trick. Chances are, if you have very strong opinions on a doctor, you'll want to choose a website that gets a lot of traffic. There are several types of doctor review websites out there. Some of them are national, some regional, some are free, and some you have to pay for. Decide which website best fits the "audience" that you want to address, and make your move from there.

Once you choose a site, take some time to figure out exactly how the site is formatted. Some websites ask set up in somewhat of a survey form. These websites will ask you a series of questions about a certain physician, and you will essentially pick the answer that best suits you. Other sites will simply give you a blank slate in which to express all of your opinions. Others offer a combination of the two. Websites that ask you to write a paragraph of two regarding your experiences will obviously take a little more time than simply clicking a number between one and five, so be sure that you have a little bit of time to dedicate to writing your review. It should also be noted that, while most of the websites will give you an option to write your real name (and even contact information, in some cases), they will also almost always give you the option to remain anonymous. Go with whatever option makes you feel the most comfortable, and never feel obligated to give any sort of information you don't want to.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly: content. Be sure to carefully choose your words and rankings when writing doctors reviews. There are a great number of people out there who solely rely on online resources to help them choose a physician, and being that healthcare is an extremely important issue to many people, it is your responsibility to write a good, knowledgeable review. If you found that a doctor was brilliant when it came to making a diagnosis, but seemed a little stand-offish, make sure to list both the positives and the negatives. There's no reason to throw a good doctor under the bus just because he wasn't particularly bright and cheery. But also remember that an upbeat demeanor is an important trait to a lot of patients. Ultimately, the goal is to be completely thoughtful, honest, and understanding. If you cover all of these bases, you shouldn't have much trouble.
