Utah Bands And The Local Music Scene

Utah is an urbanised state situated in the west of the United States

. It is famous for its geographical diversity, mountains and lakes, pine trees and woods, arid deserts and sand dunes! This beautiful state is also known for the emphasis placed on the arts in schools and in private instrument lessons. Utah bands are made of some of the finest musicians in the country, largely due to its strong cultural heritage and emphasis in the arts..

Utah is the best kept musical secret in the country. Utah bands such the Osmands, David Archuleta and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir are all native to the state of Utah. In addition, some of the best event bands in the country are Utah bands. Utah is a hub where many corporate events and conventions are held. Companies like Utah Live Bands employ musicians from all over the state to provide entertainment for these events.

Utah is also known for its nationally acclaimed music festivals. Jazz festivals such as The Salt Lake City Jazz Festival, Peaks Jazz Festival and Park City Jazz Festival brings in artists from all over the world and helps support local music schools and organisations in the funding and the education of young musicians. As a result, young Utah bands and musicians are among the most talented in the nation.

Utah has long been influenced by the Mormon Church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints). There is a strong following of local Utah bands by the church members. Some Utah bands that play religious music are well known through out the state due to its strong Mormon roots. About 60% of the Utah population are members of the Mormon church and in most cases, the church plays an active cultural part of the members lives. Music has always been a strong part of the church. The Grammy and Emmy-award- winning Utah band, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is made of 360 members who are all volunteer. The choir was started in 1873.

Thus, the local music scene is as diverse as the landscape. Bands in Utah play all kinds of music and have their own fan followings.
