Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb, located in the city known as Agra in Uttar Pradesh, India is a magnificent mausoleum in Agra which draws in many sightseeing tourist to the region. An influential Empress of the Mughal Dynasty, Nur Jahan or Mehrun-Nisaa was the 20th wife of Jahangir, a famous Mughal Emperor. Although her marriage with Jahangir was her second one, she was much favored by the emperor. Nur Jahan and the emperor are said to have been extremely close and their passion for each other is legendary. As a result of their close relationship Nur Jahan was influential when it came to matters of the state. Emperor Jahangir is thought to have regarded her opinion on certain issues higher than those of others around him.

It was in memory of Nur Jahan's father, Mirza Ghias Beg, that the Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb was built in 1628. The structure itself is white in color and is adorned with intricate carvings which gives the tomb a certain uniqueness. The dome-shaped globes atop the structures and the arched entrances are typical of contemporary Islamic architectural designs. Even the exteriors of this historic attraction in Agra are decorated with amazing floral patterns which are truly a fascinating sight to behold.
