V-plus, V-pro And Eclique Dimmer Usage

Varilight have recently released 3 new ranges of dimmer switches

. These 3 ranges being; V-Plus, V-Pro and Eclique. Initially Varilight created the Eclipse range but this was later renamed to Eclique, both of which are exactly the same.

The V-Pro and Eclique ranges were created ideally for dimming light fittings that use LED Bulbs, while the V-Plus range was created for dimming standard electronic transformers and mains lighting. While the V-Pro and Eclique ranges are ideal for dimming LED Bulbs, they can also be used to dim CFLs, GLS and standard halogen lighting.

Make sure that you do not use the Eclique dimmers with non-dimmerable fluorescent tubes and bulbs, electric motors and wire-wound or toroidal transformers as these are non-compatible and could cause damage. If unsure on how to wire the dimmer or any other switch, its best to get advice from a certified electrician who is either CORGI registered or who has a Part P installation certificate.

The Eclique dimmers can be controlled through touch and or an infra-red remote. The infra-red signal is received via the clear ring that surrounds the touch button, which also creates a sleek LED backlighting, illuminating the dimmer. This modern blue ring of light is also usefully when trying to locate the switch in the dark.

The V-Plus and V-Pro dimmers on the other hand can be controlled by the push-on/push-off intelligent leading-edge dimmer to control mains lighting.

The modern design of the Eclique dimmers can hence serve well to dim Modern Lighting. If you already have a universal programmable remote control that you use for the TV for example, then you dont even need to purchase the Varilight remote control and instead program your universal remote to control the Eclique dimmer. You can do this but putting you remote control into learning mode.

There are plenty of light fittings available nowadays that can be used with the Eclique, V-Plus and V-Pro range dimmers. Manufacturers like Searchlight have caught up onto the trend and that now any light fitting that doesnt use non dimmerable bulbs as mentioned above can be dimmed this way.

When dimming your bulbs, not only can you create the right mood with a room but you can also reduce your energy consumption as standard bulbs will use up less electrics when running less power as less energy is wasted as heat.Showers
