Every few months, you need a vacation. You need to get away from your same old daily schedule every so often in order to give your mind and your body a rest. Without the proper rest and time away from work, school or whatever it is that you may do, it becomes that much more difficult for you to remain concentrated. Before you do go off on this well deserved and much need vacation, there are a few things you should take care of before hand. Make sure that you give your teachers or your employers the proper notice before your plan to take your time off. Normally a month prior to your trip will be a good amount of time to let anyone know that you will be away for a few weeks. This time ahead will allow you to take care of work and the responsibilities that need to be taken care of so that you arent thinking of them later. This extra time before will also allow you to get ahead with some tasks so that you dont fall behind as well. Make sure you have no scheduled meetings, exams or whatnot for the dates you will be away and think about sending out an email or notice to let people know.

In addition to letting people know about one month before that you will be traveling, you should also let people know that you will not be available to be contacted during that time. A vacation is meant to be time away from your duties and daily hassles, not a change of location to do the same things. Try to avoid taking a computer, cell phone, Blackberry or any other device like this that will most certainly affect the quality and relaxation of your vacation.

Make sure that you leave your home secured with a home alarm system. There is nothing worse than going on vacation and coming back to a broken in home or getting a phone call saying that your home is on fire.
