Our houses become homes when we fill them with art

. Whether its in the form of a sculpture, or an eye catching painting, we all love to decorate our homes. Art, although a concept covering a wide range of topic areas, in its simplest form is an expression of feeling to affect our senses. The walls of our house can seem bland without this expression, lacking the charm that art can bring. We spend billions every year on all kinds of forms of art, but one type that is often overlooked is that of wildlife art. Some say, and I would agree, that you cant behold anything more beautiful than nature itself. So when you capture nature, and you present it as a picture or a model, the result can be truly stunning.

In fact humanitys first ever form of art was actually wildlife art. The Lascaux in France plays host to an incredible collection of prehistoric cave paintings. This clearly shows that art began as literally just drawing what you see so it can be viewed and remembered by others. Wildlife art roots directly back to this idea as it presents Mother Nature through the form of a drawing. If the pure beauty of wild life art isnt enough to convince you, perhaps the fact that it can help to conserve wild life will be. Many wildlife artists take pride in supporting the conservation of wildlife; they appreciate its beauty, and remind people of it through their work. To help bring awareness to this important cause some artists are even brave enough to depict the horrible truths of animal cruelty via their art. These pictures can be disturbing yet are truly vital to the wildlife movement.

Wildlife art can come in a variety of styles. Many American artists produce work that depicts a photo realistic view perfect for a modern home. Some artists prefer to sculpt the wildlife they see meaning you can appreciate nature in 3D. The type of wildlife art you will want will depend on your budget and your homes suitability. If you are privileged enough to live in a dated home, perhaps from the Victorian era, you will be wanting to opt for art that is classic and perhaps old fashioned. For those living in newer homes I would advise going for the photo realistic art as discussed previously, as it is a form of art that has a very modern essence about it.

With the technological age spreading like a disease, it hasnt taken long for artists to go online. With one quick Google search you can find thousands of artists who host their work online. These online shops are fantastic for making a quick, and cheap, buy, but you need to be careful. Consider your home, and your budget, and then look for an artist who can cater for both of your needs. I hold the belief that you will appreciate art more if you feel that you can relate to the artist, so perhaps opt for work produced by a local painter. The wildlife they capture in their work will have relevance to you and where you live, and you will take more joy from the art.
