Various Types Of Ergonomic Chairs Can Suit All Needs

Probably just about everyone thinks that offices need to be more comfortable

. Lots of office workers experience a variety of aches and pains in the back, neck, legs and head. Some people experience a burning or tingling sensation after sitting for hours. Then there are those who suffer from arthritis pain when they sit for long periods of time.

Unfortunately, if you get too comfy at work you probably won't be as productive. The solution for this problem is an ergonomic chair. These chairs are made to ease the stress of people who sit at a desk throughout the work day.

Unlike regular chairs that are designed for either comfort or function, ergonomic chairs are highly adaptable to help the body be more comfortable even when seated for long hours. Here's a look at a few of the various types of ergonomic chairs.

* Standard ergonomic chair. Ergonomic office chairs are carefully designed in order to give the best support possible to your entire body. They are fully adjustable in many different directions, so you can customize them to get the perfect seating arrangement. They provide good support for your legs and your back.

* Kneeling chair. Ergonomic kneeling chairs look like they are meant for working out, not sitting on. Initially, they don't appear to be all that comfortable. But because the seat tilts forward and is padded at the knees, these chairs ease the tension on the leg muscles. The forward angle also minimizes stress on the back and supports the lumbar vertebrae.

* Saddle seat. As its name suggests, the shape of this chair is very similar to a horse saddle. Your hips are positioned naturally so that you will lean from the pelvic area rather than the waist when you shift around. This model is great at encouraging better posture in those who tend to slump while they're seated.

* Exercise ball seat. Although it looks like an exercise ball on wheels, these chairs aren't meant for working out. A ball chair takes the pressure off your spine, encourages better posture and makes your torso stronger. Some models feature a backrest.

* Recliner. Reclining is the most relaxing position for the back. This is especially true for people who are suffering from lumber spinal stenosis or other spine-related problems. These chairs aren't made for use at a desk, but they often have swing away tabletops that can comfortably hold your laptop computer or paperwork.

Most types of ergonomic chairs will prevent the aches and pains brought about by sitting at a desk all day. Ultimately, the more comfortable you are, the more efficiently you'll do your job.
