When you observe it standing in a station, luminous in its navy and gold colors and hoary white top, it leaves you awe inspiring. The carriages are traditional they are coal-heated; windows open for the fresh air. There is no provision of air conditioning. Toilets are down the hall and there are no showers.

Despite all this we feel, this pessimism melts away when we are on board. The spirit and attractiveness of the train and the superior service throughout, and the five-star standard of the food and wine, surrounds one in a blissful atmosphere. The train can adjust approximately 100 passengers.

Accommodations

Sleeping cabins have Pullman-style beds that is one up and the other one down that is converted into a relaxed sofa in the day time. A sink in a charming, closed vanity is built-in into the corner. All services are provided

Dining

There are three elegant and beautiful dining cars: one chiefly with marquetry; another with Chinese walls with vivid and dazzling animals; and a third with Lalique crystal insets. The administration of the dining cars is outstanding and terrific. For starters, a person comes to you in the day prior to meals to hold back your table. He adjusts travelers among the three dining cars. The dining experience is very good both as far as food quality is concerned ,the variety of dishes which are served and the service. All the travelers are greeted with warmth and generosity and they are made to feel at home.

Lounge Cars

The lounge car is adorned and decked in the Art Nouveau style. Fresh and bright colored flowers liven up the tables, and a pianist makes the evening very lively and romantic. It is an ideal place to read Le Monde by day, take pleasure in cocktails prior to dinner and a nightcap after dinner; maybe you will come to a decision, like one traveler did on our tour to Istanbul, to dance the Charleston in her epoch dress. The relaxation car can get extremely and incredibly crowded, too, but the spread out dining helps with this problem.
