Verizon Planning To Launch Fast 4g Wireless In 38 U.s. Cities

, Verizon said that it is going to launch its new wireless broadband network in almost 38 cities across U.S. According to the statement issued by the company, the new wireless broadband network which will be offering high speed data transfer initially for the portable computer users i.e. laptop users will be up and running before the end of this year. This latest wireless network will be available in the cities like Miami, California, Dallas, Houston, Seattle and mainly from Boston-Washington stretch.

In total, Verizon is planning to cover almost 38 cities and one third of the countrys total population with its latest Fourth Generation or commonly called as 4G network. The company is planning to accomplish this coverage task by the end of this year in addition to providing these 4G services to almost 60 more airports in U.S. Previously, the statement issued by the company stated that Verizon is planning to cover almost 25-30 countries by this year, but these cities were not identified by the company.

The target consumers for these 4G services are initially the business users and those who are on-the-go. According to Verizon, the Smartphones and Tablet computers will be able to take advantage of this fast service starting from next year.

At CTIA conference in San Francisco, Verizons chief Technology officer said in an interview that the move from the previously existing 3G network to the new and the latest 4G network is just like building a highway with a lot of lanes in it. The more capacity the company gives in an unwired environment, the more is the effort involved in it. So, it seems that the company is finally aiming to cover the complete country with its fast speed network.

Verizon Wireless is a joint venture of two companies namely Verizon Communication Inc. of New York City and Britain Vodafone Group Plc.
