The whole area near Piazza del Duomo was then the headquarters Adimari family
, in fact this stretch is called Course Adimari. At the corner of Via de 'Calzaiuoli and Via delle Oche was a lodge belonging to the family Adimari. These lodges were very frequent in the city (now a beautifully restored example is the Loggia Rucellai Via della Vigna Nuova) and were a source of pride for the families who owned them and were used for celebrations, weddings, parties, public affairs.
