Victoria Falls, often knows as the 'Vic falls' are regarded as Africa's most enchanting waterfalls

. Standing at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe, the falls present the sight worth seeing for the tourists of both the countries. However, the Zimbabwean view is considered as more spell casting because of the direct view of "Devil's Cataract" and "Rainbow Falls". At a few miles' distance from Victoria Falls lies the town of Victoria Falls, offering safe and comfortable accommodation to the visitors.

The land of energetic escapades, stimulating thrills and lively games is a heaven for adrenaline junkies. Special safaris can be taken to have a better view, some of which may go up to Botswana to see the larger game. Besides, there are opportunities of whitewater rafting and bungee jumping set up on the bridge between Zambia and Zimbabwe. However, the tourists have to leave the country through immigration processes. Moreover, the travelers can kayak, canoe, fish, and ride on horse's back. Water flow during the dry season is minimal and can't be thrilling.

This remarkable venture enables people like you and me to make physical contact with these fabulous big cats at an early stage in their lives. A truly awesome experience! Once the lions reach 18 months old, they are transferred to a holding area of a minimum of 500 acres and left to their own devices. They learn how to hunt and are supplied with food "on the hoof". They are also grouped into prides, so that ultimately they can be released into the wild as a self sufficient family, able to hunt and fend for themselves.

On the walk the lions constantly stop and lie down (cat nap time?), giving you ample opportunity to get up close and personal, stroke them (I even pulled one's tail - VERY gently!) and the photographic opportunities are amazing. One of the crew videos the whole experience, which is then edited and you can buy the DVD at the end of the day to remind you of this encounter for posterity. The crew that accompany you also take pictures with your own camera so you can focus on the interaction with the lions, and are indeed encouraged to do so.

Victoria Falls Bridge is situated close by the falls. The magnificent bridge that joins Zambia and Zimbabwe offers fascinating views of the Zambezi and the nearby dense forest. Another interesting activity in this area is Bunjee jumping. Interestingly, Victoria Falls is the world's longest bunjee distance - covering some 111 metres in length.

Zambia's Kariba dam covers an area of 300km while the Cahora Bassa dam in Mozambique spans some 280 km in width. Sport fishing is a popular activity among visitors to the sites. The commonly tagged species is the Tiger fish that grows up to 10 kg. The red-breated bream and the yellow-belly bream are also common here.

Due to the large number of parks and reserve along its course, River Zambia offers some of the best game viewing safaris in the region. Among the most popular parks in the area include the Zambezi, Mana pool and Victoria Falls.
