Video Production Lesson Plan ' How Do You Devise One

?

When you are getting prepared to instruct a class on video production, you will need to first design your video production lesson plans. In order to effectively reach your class, you have to devise lesson plans that are designed to help class members learn in many different ways. You want your students to learn to use their writing skills, videography skills, and to develop project planning skills of their own. Determine what you want them to learn overall, and then divide that large chunk up into teachable modules. You should incorporate a part into each learning module where the students teach one another by critiquing the work that is done by their classmates. Groups should also have many chances to work together on large scope video, and collaborative writing projects. You want your lesson plan segments to build up to one large final project, where the class must display an understanding and comprehension of the key concepts that you have made them aware of. They should be able to competently and creatively display a grasp of these concepts through the medium of video. It is ideal for you to allow individuals to choose their own subject matter for this project, so long as the subject they choose is not offensive, or distasteful in any way.You should incorporate a "weekly viewing," into your syllabus, where you and your class must view a video, critique it, and learn from it. Depending on the style of production you are teaching, you might want to review narrative movies, documentaries, and live television shows (like the news and talk shows.) There are many types of programs that are recorded on video, so your students might be interested in any of these mediums.Since we are living in the age of the Internet and computers, you should incorporate current software formats and websites into your lesson plan that a student planning to go into the production field should know about. This is so that students at least have a basic understanding of what the software does or what the website is for, and how it can be used for their needs (editing, writing, product distribution, making contacts, job listings) etc. One of the privileges you have as an instructor is that you are teaching an art form that students from all backgrounds can communicate through. Even if you might have students with language challenges, or who might be social outcast in some way, through the avenue of video, these students will easily be able to connect to their fellow classmates through their art form. As a production teacher, you could really make a difference in a future videographer's life, so keep that in mind when you are designing your video production lesson plans.
