ViewSonic has launched the ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10. Both claim to be the latest generation of intelligent communications tablets, incorporating full mobile phone functionality, computer and gaming capabilities.
At 1.15cm in thickness, the ViewPad 7 device is also the world's slimmest, multi-touch, all-in-one (AIO) tablet. They are designed to meet the work, lifestyle and entertainment needs of today's sophisticated consumers. Users can surf the Internet, take and share photos, play games, listen to music, and connect with friends via the ViewPad tablet.
ViewPad 7 and ViewPad 10 would carry MRP of Rs.32k and Rs.38k, respectively. Though the company is busy with streamlining the channel structure to market the products in India, still they would be made available by the middle of January 2011.
Samsung demonstrates Wimax 2.0 Platform in India
Samsung Electronics has unveiled its super high-speed, next-generation, Mobile WiMAX 2 based on IEEE 802.16m for the first time in the country at the India Telecom Show at Pragati Maidan. The company had demonstrated this technology for the first time in "CEATEC, Japan 2010" in Tokyo, Japan this year.
Samsung has captured major global markets in Wireless broadband technology. Samsung has deployed proven Wimax 16e technology with 57 operators across 35 countries, including Clearwire, USA; Yota, Russia; UQ Communications, Japan; YTL, Malaysia; VMax, Taiwan and Mobley, Saudi Arabia accounting for more that 40% global market share.
"India is one of the countries with the most potential for growth of BWA (Wireless Broadband Wireless). The obvious answers to this question, whether India will take a chance to leapfrog its economic status by expanding broadband services with mature wireless technology available with clear roadmap, that is WiMAX 16e standard with a smooth migration to16m standard or TD-LTE services in India becomes clear, depends on the Telecom Operators who have acquired precious BWA spectrum," states Dr. Song .
Wimax 16m being demonstrated by Samsung Electronics at the India Telecom Show, has already been designated by ITU-R as one of its Global Standards for 4G technology. WiMAX 2 based on IEEE 802.16m standard enables more efficient, faster, and more converged data communications
