Vinod Khanna - Veteran Bollywood Actors

Vinod khanna was born on 6th october 1946, to kc and kamla khanna at peshawar

, now in pakistan. Khanna father was a businessman who dealt in textiles, dyes chemicals. Khanna has three sisters and one brother, who all grew up in a joint family.

Khanna shifted through queen mary school, barnes school (deolali) and st. Xavier high school. He completed his graduation in commerce from sydenham college at churchgate, mumbai. At the age of 22, khanna entered in bollywood as an actor.

Vinod started off his acting career in adurthi subba rao man ka meet (1968) opposite jeevan and leena chandavarkar. His character was that of a villain. He continued to play supporting actor and villain roles.

Some hit films in which vinod acted as a supporting actor include purab aur paschim (1970) directed by manoj kumar, sachaa jhutha directed by manmohan desai and mera gaon mera desh directed by raj khosla. Vinod was also seen in nateeja (1969), mastana (1970) aan milo sajna (1970) and reshma aur shera (1971).

Vinod will be seen in upcoming films which include down town, chhoti si duniya, ek thi rani aisi bhi, pehchaan and tell me oh khuda. Vinod pending films including chooriyan.

Vinod Joined The Bharatiya Janata Party (Bjp) In 1997 And Was Elected From Gurdaspur In Punjab In 1998. The starfactor helped vinod defeat three times lok sabha member sukhbans kaur bhinder.

In 1999, vinod was reelected to the lok sabha from gurdaspur. Vinod later became union minister for culture and tourism in july 2002. Six months later vinod was moved to the more important ministry of external affairs (mea) as minister of state. In 2004, vinod managed to win reelection from gurdaspur.

Though being an actor liked by the masses, vinod received a very few awards in bollywood. Vinod won 1 filmfare award for his film haath ki safai (1974), out of five nominations in his career. In the year 1999, vinod was awarded with the prestigious filmfare lifetime achievement award. He also received lifetime achievement award in zee cine award ceremony, 2007.

Vinod Married Geetanjali And Has Two Sons With Her, Bollywood Actors Rahul Khanna (Born 1972) And Akshaye Khanna (Born 1975). In 1975, vinod became a disciple of osho (acharya rajneesh). In early 1980s, he moved to rajneeshpuram, osho commune in the united states, for four years in search of spiritual well being.

Vinod absence from his family, who remained behind in india, caused stresses with his wife, and the marriage ended in divorce. In 1990, he married his second wife, kavita. They have a son, sakshi, and a daughter shraddha.
