City Palace of Udaipur is one of the most remarkable constructions of the Rajputana rulers. The construction of this beautiful palace was started by the Maharana Udai Singh of the Sisodia clan after he founded the Udaipur City. Later on subsequent Maharajas added several magnificent structures within the complex of the City Palace.

The palace is made of granite and marble rocks. It is built on a raised platform encircling by wide ramparts. This grand structure of this palace showcases the fusion of Medieval European and Chinese architecture. The exterior of this palace is not as elegant as the interiors. Krishna Vilas:

This complex of the palace is renowned across the globe for its rich and remarkable collection of miniature paintings showcasing the scene of royal processions, festivals and games of the royal dynasties.

Mor Chowk:

This is famous for its unique glass mosaic that adorned the wall of this palace. The three peacock based design represents the three seasons. The peacocks are designed with 5000 pieces of green, gold and blue colors glass.

Manak Mahal (Ruby Palace):

This palace consists of beautiful collection of glass and mirror works which enthrall tourists during their visit to this place. Crystal and porcelain figures are other popular things which are preserved inside this palace.

Chini Chitrashala:

This complex is renowned for its Chinese and Dutch ornamental tiles. The collection of rare paintings and tiles of yesteryears enthrall tourists who come here from several parts of the globe.

Zenana Mahal:

It is situated south of the City Palace which was built for the women of the royal families. This is the fortified private living quarters known for its magnificent design and elegant decorations. The Rang Mahal the hall of colors' and the Badal Mahal the palace of the clouds' is two popular attractions of the Zenana mahal.
