Visit Siesta-key For A Unique Vacation Experience

. Summer is upon us and you need to fill your list with possible travel destinations. If you've had a long and rough year and really need a place where you can sit back and relax, you should consider Siesta Key, Florida as its one of the best beach vacation areas available.

Florida residents already know that this is a great vacation spot, and for good reason. It's location on Florida's west coast makes it easily and quickly reachable by anyone. It's an hour away from Tampa, two hours away from Orlando, and less than 4 hours away from Miami. With travel costs being as high as they are, it makes it a great place to visit while saving a lot of money on travel expenses. If you're coming from outside of Florida, you have two airport options: Sarasota/Bradenton International and Tampa International Airport. Although the Sarasota airport is just minutes away, Tampa Int'l offers many more direct flights.

The island of Siesta Key is eight miles in length, and is classified as a barrier island. It is located right off the coast of Sarasota, and is surrounded by clear water from the Gulf of Mexico. Thousands of people visit Siesta Key on a monthly basis for its fantastic beaches, and generally relaxed atmosphere. The area offers plenty of fun and historical attractions, as well as many other fun activities.

One of the key selling points of Siesta-Key is its pristine beaches, which year after year are ranked amongst the top 10 in the world. Siesta-Key Beach and Crescent Beach both are made up of 99% quartz sand making these two beaches super unique. In fact, even during a hot day the sand on these beaches stays cool to the touch. If you're a beach bum, Siesta-Key is where you want to spend your vacation.

Because of its rather small size, Siesta Key doesn't have any large resorts like you would find in places like Miami, or Daytona Beach. It is home to many beachfront condos, cottages, and a few small resort hotels. This adds to the uniqueness of the experience and the relaxed island atmosphere. It's one of the many reasons why people fall in love with Siesta-Key and want to move down here.

We see proof of this during the winter time, when Siesta-Key and Sarasota are flooded with "snow birds." Everyone that wants to escape the cold purchases some property near the beach and enjoys every minute of it during the winter time. And when they go back up north, many owners offer their home or condo up as a vacation rental. Although it's a small island, vacation space really isn't that limited down here.
