New York, or the Big Apple as it is commonly called, is a popular tourist destination. There is no city on earth that can compare with New York City. There is something magical about it, something that is hard to describe.

New York City is often called the City that Never Sleeps because no matter what time of day it is, you will find people on the streets. You will see coffee shops open and buses running. There is a contagious adrenaline that courses through the streets of New York.

Being the big city that it is, you can find hotels in New York in every area and in every price range. From luxury high rise hotels to cheap hotels in New York, this city has it all. Remember that as long as you are near public transportation, such as the train or a bus line, then you are not far from the city. You can save money by staying in one of the surrounding boroughs and commuting into the city. Consider staying in Long Island City, Queens, or Brooklyn on your next trip because these areas have more cheap hotels in New York. Some tourists prefer to stay right in the heart of the city and choose one of the many hotels in New York City. The choice is up to you.

New York City is full of exciting things to do and attractions to see. Stop in at the South Street Sea Port, The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, or the Museum of Natural History. Go on a horse and buggy ride through Central Park after taking in a Broadway play the choices are endless!

If shopping is more your thing then you are in luck! New York has many high end stores, like Saks Fifth Avenue, where you can see the latest fashion trends. Be sure to visit lower Manhattan and Greenwich Village for smaller trendy shops. You might need to bring along an extra empty suitcase to bring home all the treasures you find along the way. Be sure to stop for some authentic New York pizza and bagels while visiting the city too.
