If there is one idea that has caused considerable contention between 'conventional

healers' and practitioners of 'alternative medicine,' then it has to be the idea that one can get actual health benefits from silicon/quartz crystals. The practitioners of alternative medicine insist that this is a possibility, whereas their conventional medicine counterparts insist that this is not a possibility; leading to a deadlock in the argument, where one side is extremely unwilling to yield to other's argument.

This is the field through whose study Einstein came up with the famous equation that explores the totality (and interchangeability) of energy and mass in the universe, a work that earned him global acclaim.

The Chinese and other people in the orient had known about the relationship between mass (which our bodies are an example), and energy for a long time. It had come to be learnt that it was when the energy which made up our bodies fell out of balance that we experienced illness. It had also come to be learnt that some materials could restore that balance, when it was lost; the materials in question being the likes of silica crystal we are talking about. And this formed the scientific basis for the health benefits associated with the silica crystal, which derives its efficacy in healing from its ability to restore lost balance of energy in the body.

In way, we can say that the oriental scientists who came up with these ideas dared to look at the applications of quantum physics in health. Their counterparts in the occident, even after coming to agree on the fact that all mass is energy, failed to see how much impact this discovery could have in the health sciences, preferring instead to keep it locked into the area of physical sciences; Einstein's assertion that it pervades all areas of life notwithstanding.
