Voluptuous Woman Lands Modelling Job

People registering with modelling agencies in a bid to make it big in the industry

may be inspired by the story of a curvaceous salon owner who has landed a contract with an underwear firm.

According to reports in the Scottish Daily Record, Laura-Ann Smith secured a year-long deal with Curvy Kate to be the face of its products.

The business specialises in supplying lingerie for DD-plus women.

Ms Smith came out top in a public vote in the Star that was part of a competition launched by the company.

Before getting the contract, the voluptuous businesswoman had never tried modelling and it was her 27-year-old fianc Chris who entered her photographs into the contest. It was only by a matter of minutes that the snaps made it before the deadline closed.

As well as all the other perks that come with her agreement with Curvy Kate, Ms Smith will also be supplied with free underwear for the 12-month period.

Commenting on her adventure, she said: "I entered for a bit of a laugh. I was totally overwhelmed when I won it, so much so I actually phoned back and said, 'Are you sure?'.

"I even thought about pulling out when I got to the top 30. I thought, 'Oh, my gosh'. I would like to thank everybody for voting."

Meanwhile, managing director of the firm Steve Hudson said she is perfect for modelling, adding she really stood out and had such a bubbly personality. He went on to say she has confidence and is going to prove just how good curves can look in lingerie.

Headquartered in Harrow, Curvy Kate is targeted at those with fuller figures and its garments are designed to appeal to people with fresh and fun-loving attitudes. Its bra sizes range from DD to J, with backs measuring from 28 to 40 inches.
