WMD's: Are the weapons of mass destruction allowed by the leading religions of the world today

? Humans have to employ better senses

For quite some time now, I embarked upon the chore of finding an answer to the above question; the use of, to be precise. I had to sweat in cold winters and seat sweat less during the power outage (called load management in Pakistan), glued to the screen, but I could not find an answer. I wanted to know whether there existed a clause somewhere that authorized or legitimized the use of weapons of mass destruction during a war. I went through books of various religions, asked friends, priests, muftis, pundits, and used the internet, yet I found nothing. One intelligent person asked me to look for doctrines' of use for such weapons of mass destruction. I did find some logical answers but none could gratify me. When I asked why we have WMD's? The answer was India. Why India has them? The answer was China; China has them because of USA, etc. It went on. I imagined who invented the nuclear weapon, the biological and chemical agents as weapons to destroy human beings? Sure, it would kill lots of humans and impair a mammoth number. Such was the intention of making WMD's, an absolute victory'. Bravo! And we call ourselves humans? Not understanding that we and our children could face the wrath' of such disastrous weapons one day, we are ready to fire and don't wish to look into the barrel? Are we sane? Do we understand the catastrophic repercussions? Sure we do, but don't want to think about it. Just like beasts. You attack to kill your prey. Even the animals wait to eat their prey before the prey breathes last. We, the humans, wish to see our enemy in utmost despair before he breathes last; attrition; annihilation; chaos in their ranks; disaster, and much more. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism and all other faiths are against the killing of innocent people. So how can those with brains, from any faith prepare to kill people, while their subjects' wish peace, love, mutual respect, jobs, justice and good social living?

Only one verse of the Holy Quran says it all:

"The killing of one innocent person is equivalent to the killing of the whole humanity". So, why should jets pound innocent Lebanese, Palestinians, Iraqis, Chechens, Afghans? Why should a group of Al Qaeda strike passenger jets against well selected targets? Our Holy Prophet Mohammad (Peace be upon him) strictly prohibited killing of innocent people during battles or otherwise. So how can I strap myself with explosives and explode into heavens', when suicide is strictly forbidden in Islam, even if I have a legitimate target by all professional, military definitions? Where's my religion?

Yes, I am a strong believer in Jihad', but the Jihad that is allowed in my religion. Every religion on God's earth has a concept of Jihad in its own way. Although, as a Muslim, I consider that Christianity and Judaism are earlier versions of Islam, still, for the sake of discussion let us say they are separate religions. Allah (God) has very clearly said that humans are the best of His creations. So, how can I decide when to end someone's life, the best creation of Allah? I looked up Christian friends of mine those happened to practice and preach, and I was happy to learn that Christianity is equally tough on the subject as a whole. My Hindu friends replied similarly on the concept of killing' innocent humans and jihad'.

In essence, the concept of mass destruction or killing is non existent in all major religions, especially Islam. I thought there were many sane people on earth, but I found that very less care. I'm shocked. Even the media never played its real role of making their respective rulers aware of this menace.

We could ask a lot from our rulers, but I know they would settle for less. The same nuclear energy, the same biological sciences, and the same chemical sciences could easily be used for the poor and the underprivileged of our earth; with safe and healthy means. Why not? I wish we could at least put some sanity into the brains of our so called rulers, all over the globe; I wish we could live happily and respect the existence of each other.

If they are hell-bent on killing each other, they would the least consider the use of "very low intensity" tactical nuclear devices, aimed primarily at the enemy forces', rather than directing those at civilian populations. And of course, they must devise strategies' to contain the after effects, if they could. I wish.
