June 11, 2010 (Blooming, IN) - Growing up against the backdrop of World War II in England, Derek Robinson narrates the story of his life. He shares his experiences as a carefree youth and the youngest of eight children whose father served in the army. Living in different locations around England and Scotland saw him employed at an eyeglass company, a cotton mill, the gas company, and even with the ambulance service. This memoir chronicles the successes of a man who commenced life surrounded by the most abominable war in world history and how it affected his family.

The self published book Derek's Story also tells of his post-war life, his marriage in 1957 and the relocation to Canada that in 1965 forever transformed his persona.

About the Author

Derek Robinson was born the youngest of eight children in Aldershot, Hampshire, England. In 1965 he and his wife, Pauline, moved to Canada where he ran his own business for more than 35 years before retiring in 2003. They have a son and a daughter together. Derek's Story is Robinson's first official publication.
