Wait Staff Uniforms And Some Styles

The wait staff uniforms and the waitress profession itself have been around for years now and have always been dominated by women

. It must be because they think fast and work in a fast paced environment while tending to the various needs of their customers. Waiters and waitresses should also be in decent physical shape due to the amount of food and beverages they continually bring to their customers and the demands of walking and standing for long periods of time.

Employers may require a high school diploma and will prefer those with food service backgrounds but most provide on the job training. Waiters and waitresses working in establishments that serve liquor must be 21 to serve alcohol to the customers. If not someone who is 21 will have to serve the table. These older employees might wear special wait staff uniforms.

Being courteous is a must for getting good tips at an eating establishment even when there is a problem. Politely tell the customer that you are not authorized to handle it, and that your manager would be a better candidate. In doing so, you will avoid a situation where you will either get blamed, or get a terrible tip from the customer not being satisfied. Let the people who are not wearing wait staff uniforms handle it!

A great waitress should never make a lot of mistakes, although some will likely happen. Definitely get in the habit of repeating orders back to the customers to avoid any confusion on the order. Also take clear concise notes that are legible. If you have to, you should take your time and do a good job documenting an order rather than be quick and forget something. Mistakes are replaced, but they take much time in doing so, and customers wont appreciate it.

The wait staff uniforms many staff members wear are made of light weight material and most are in a skirt form or pants. This keeps you cool as you are running around during your shift. What is great about wait staff uniforms is that they can be worn more that once and be kept on site(if you have a locker). If you are allowed you could wear a different uniform for every day of the week.

Being a waitresses may seem to be like a tough job to have and continue to do day after day, but it can be very rewarding at the same time. In time, you will learn to do your job more effectively and without much mistake. In the meantime, learn from your mistakes and wear your wait staff uniform with pride.
