The vehicle was first delivered to those consumers on the LEAF waiting list last December. Initially, consumers in just seven states were able to sign up for one of the first-generation LEAF vehicles. However, by the end of this year, Nissan has said that the LEAF will be for sale in all fifty states.

Another Nissan award recipient was the Nissan Cube. The funky shaped SUV/Crossover earned an IQS Award for best Compact MPV (multi-person vehicle) by J.D. Power and Associates. Additionally, the Cube also earned the Highest Rank for Compact MPVs in the APEAL Study, again by J.D. Power and Associates. Nissan's well-selling sedan, the Nissan Maxima, also earned an IQS award by J.D. Power and Associates in the Large Car category. Additionally, the vehicle ranked #2 in the Large Car category in J.D. Power and Associates' APEAL study. In addition to the mentioned awards, another four Nissan models won numerous awards in 2010.
