Warwick: Nissan Xterra award winner
For local Warwick Nissan Xterra dealers, as well as all Nissan dealers, 2010 was a stellar year. The auto brand took home numerous awards from multiple organizations, both domestic and international. What's more, several of Nissan's models were awarded, models from a number of different automotive classes. These extensive awards means Nissan is attracting consumers from all classes and with all kinds of needs in a vehicle. With this kind of ability to understand the market, it's likely that Nissan, and local Warwick Nissan Xterra dealers, will be around for a long time.
Perhaps the most prestigious award given to a Nissan model this year was that of "European Car of the Year," which was awarded to the innovative Nissan LEAF. For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past six months, the Nissan LEAF is the first 100% electric vehicle (EV) to be produced for the mass-market. The vehicle was first delivered to those consumers on the LEAF waiting list last December. Initially, consumers in just seven states were able to sign up for one of the first-generation LEAF vehicles. However, by the end of this year, Nissan has said that the LEAF will be for sale in all fifty states.
Another Nissan award recipient was the Nissan Cube. The funky shaped SUV/Crossover earned an IQS Award for best Compact MPV (multi-person vehicle) by J.D. Power and Associates. Additionally, the Cube also earned the Highest Rank for Compact MPVs in the APEAL Study, again by J.D. Power and Associates. The Nissan Cube is a great vehicle for new drivers or drivers headed off to college. The vehicle has nice size and allows for a versatile use of space, perfect for hauling friends to dinner or furniture to the dorm. Local Providence used Nissan Cube dealers have the vehicle on lots with an exceptionally low price tag. Nissan's well-selling sedan, the Nissan Maxima, also earned an IQS award by J.D. Power and Associates in the Large Car category. Additionally, the vehicle ranked #2 in the Large Car category in J.D. Power and Associates' APEAL study. In addition to the mentioned awards, another four Nissan models won numerous awards in 2010.
"The recognition that Nissan products have received underlines the strong commitment the company has in bringing exciting, innovative products to all our customers around the world. These honors are a tribute to the passion and dedication of the women and men of Nissan," said Simon Sproule, Corporate Vice President of Global Marketing Communications. "As Nissan welcomes the New Year, the company will continue to challenge itself to provide customers with new and exciting vehicles at the highest quality standards."
After such an incredible 2010, the future is certainly bright for Nissan. With several new hybrid models on their way, in addition to the increase in production of the Nissan LEAF set for this year, the consumer will only continue to benefit from the great vehicles being designed and produced by Nissan.
