The washcloths are often taken for granted, after all they are meant to pick up dirt and dampness, so how we expect them to look anything but worn? However, there is nothing to say that they cannot look clean and well kept. A casual glance at your washcloths can sometimes take you by surprise. Washcloths may get out of sight what you do not want to see, but they take it all into them.

While they have a thankless job to perform, it may be nice to give your washcloths their due by keeping them looking clean. It is important to have well kept washcloths, since they sometimes have a chance to spread germs and also breed them if they are dirty.

The most important piece of care with washcloths is to ensure that they are hung up when not in use. It is common to find washcloths lying bunched around. This does not allow them to dry out completely, which keeps them damp at all times. Drying them out, especially in fresh air and sunlight when possible can help them keep dry and disinfected.

Always replace and wash your washcloths even before they start to look dirty. In places like the kitchen, try and use a fresh washcloth every day, or replace them twice a day if you use the kitchen extensively.

It is always preferable to buy washcloths which are made of thin material. Although we tend to look for what is most absorbent so it can help keep the house fresh and dry, it is just as important to look for washcloths that can give off their moisture as quickly. This will help them do their job, and also enable them to stay dry better.

When you pick up washcloths for your house, look for colors that are slightly darker. This will help the washcloths stay in better shape and also last you longer. Even though they only have very functional roles, no one quite likes the look of faded, stained washcloths hanging around. When in darker colors, they look more presentable and help you feel better about them. Spare them a thought, after all they give you good health and clean surroundings.
