Just a few days ago, I happened to go see the movie "Avatar" with a few friends of mine

. When the first previews came out, I found the idea of blue people to be quite strange, but once you get into the actual storyline: everything changes. I must say it is one of my personal favorites and I can be very picky. The entire plot was superb with an "on the edge of your seat" kind of vibe coming from it. Starting with the storyline, it can become so heart-wrenching to see the Na'vi go through so much grief and pain. It feels so real, that you just want to cry yourself and the anger you feel for the "sky-people" to do such a thing, but nonetheless, the love and lesson it teaches is beyond words. The "in tune with nature" part was only to give you a better look into what the Na'vi are all about and I find nothing wrong with that. All the effort put into Pandora was amazing! From the Home Tree to the Hallelujah Mountains and the creatures to the Na'vi themselves. It's all so fascinating!

I would give this movie a 10/10 for all the hard work put into this and perhaps if it's even possible a sequel (though I'm not sure I recommend it. Where would they be able to go?) and even if some people might disagree, "Avatar" will always be my all-tome favorite movie! When I walked in the cinema, a sudden rush filled me - one that can not be beaten by anything but a packed theatre ready to watch a film. The sheer numbers that have turned out to see this film, are extraordinary. Not in a long time have I seen anything like this, so it was very good indeed, and I didn't mind having to book ahead a few hours. The film is a Sci-Fi epic, full of amazing special effects, lots of tension, and a very moving soundtrack. I believe critics have been very harsh indeed about this film, and I would like to attempt to even the odds a little with this review. Firstly, the world that is created, is just outstanding. Every flight taken on one of the flying creatures, every fight, every vocal delivery is really felt on a deep and personal level, you feel that you are there with the characters, something that many films fail to accomplish. I found myself shaking at times, and I had to pinch myself and say 'It's just a movie.' The characterisation and story inthe film have been critiqued as being to generic and to simple. I feel this is true, however it is not a bad thing when put in the films environment. I found that this made the characters so easy to connect with, I found myself believing, and wishing, I was one of the natives, the Na'vi. The script, has been slated in several reviews and I believe this is a fair criticism to make.
