Det. Scotty Valens of the PPD (Philadelphia Police Department) travels to New York to investigate a cold case involving Stella. This episode marks the first time that characters from a show outside the CSI franchise crossed over onto a CSI episode. In the sixth season, CSI: NY crosses over with both CSI (for the first time) and CSI: Miami (for the third time) in a three part story. Dr. Ray Langston from CSI starts off in Miami, travels to New York and finally journeys back home to Vegas.

A spin-off from CSI: Miami, the third edition to the CSI franchise follows a New York City forensics team/police officers headed by former tough Marine Major, Det. First Grade Mac Taylor, and his newest partner in crime, Det. Jo Danville, an experienced investigator from Washington, D.C., whose work is driven by her empathy for the victim.

The show follows the investigations of a team of NYPD forensic scientists and police officers as they unveil the circumstances behind mysterious and unusual deaths as well as other crimes. CSI: NY was produced in partnership with the Canadian media company Alliance Atlantis. The company dissolved after the third season in 2007 and all production is now done under the purview of CBS Paramount Television. On May 19, 2010, CBS renewed the show for a seventh season of 24 episodes, which premiered on Friday September 24, 2010.

Episode Synopsis: CSI: NY "Justified" Season 7 Episode 9 Photos - Deputy Chief of Manhattan Borough Detectives Ted Carver (guest star John Larroquette) and Det. Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise) go up against each other when a dark secret from the Chief's past threatens to shatter his stellar reputation and close-knit family, on CSI:NY, scheduled to air Friday, Nov. 19 (10:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. CSI Detective First Grade: Mac Taylor (Gary Sinise): is leader of the CSI team. He was born in Chicago and considered working for the Chicago Police Department before he moved to New York City. The death of his wife, Claire Conrad Taylor, in the 9/11 attacks troubles him to this day, causing chronic insomnia.
