. The series has struggled and was originally canceled by NBC after its second season but was renewed after the fan base lobbied NBC with a save Chuck campaign. With the third seasons getting the highest ever ratings for Church NBC has renewed the show for a fourth season.
The show follows Chuck a person who has all the US Governments secret information embedded into his brain. He is forced to use this information to thwart terrorist actions and assassinations against the United States. The show features Zachary Levi as Agent Charles Chuck Irving Bartowski, Yvonne Strahovski as Agent Sarah Walker , Adam Baldwin as Colonel John Casey and Joshua Gomez as Morgan Grimes.
The show has struggled to maintain ratings in the United States due to competition from very successful shows including Dancing With The Stars on ABS, House MD on FOX, and How I Met Your Mother and Rules of Engagement on CBS. The Writers Guild of America strike in 2007 also deeply negatively affected the shows as well President Obamas repeated prime time news conferences. Many reviewers including Aaron Barnhart of the Kansas City Star have expressed concern that the show is a repeat of 24 and will be doomed to failure due to its inability to come up with fresh content. However other reviewers call it the Best Scripted Hour on NBC.
The show is now widely available worldwide airing in almost all major countries including Canada, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and the United Kingdom.
