movie directed by Nanette Burstein is a film about meeting each other halfway. Surviving long distance relationship can be really tough, because of the obvious distance and lack of closeness you feel with your partner. Yet, things will be much more complicated if the two persons have just met and with no strings attached. Probably you have been there too. I would also admit that it is actually a relationship which is hard to manage.

Going The Distance revolves around a couple who try to maintain a long-distance relationship, one in New York and the other in San Francisco. Garrett (Justin Long) works for a record label and has dreams of helping his favorite underground bands hit it big. One of those bands is Boxer Rebellion, and he takes girlfriend Erin (Drew Barrymore) to see them on one of their first dates. He has apparently always had problems with commitment. And although he seems to be doing everything fine and trying hard, looks like he cannot speak the female language at all.

Erin (Drew Barrymore) is only temporarily in New York. They start a no-strings-attached relationship which quickly spirals into something deep and serious, with nothing else being serious in the background. They realise they are meant for each other but this is only the beginning of a long, complicated road with obstacles like the great distance between New York and San Francisco, longing, and juggling two priorities like love and professional ambitions.

The movie also touches true to life scene of the on and off lovers Drew and Justin. Justin Long "prays" Drew Barrymore will always be in his life. The 32-year-old actor - who has an on/off relationship with his 'Going The Distance' co-star - insists his friendship with the blonde actress will always come before any romance between them and he is happy they are always on good terms.He said: "The truth is, we do love each other. I pray to God she's always in my life. We were friends before this, and at the heart of what we are and will be is "friends". Two good, really dear friends, and that trumps anything else." Despite the troubles in their two-year relationship, Justin insists he and Drew, 35, have no regrets because they have learned so much from one another.

I'm pretty sure you will have a lot of laughs in this movie. It's all tossed with realistic, three-dimensional roles is a recipe for a more than average romantic comedy (and funny at that for a change!)
