There is a story behind every love that blossoms in the wake of wee hours. The protagonists, most of the times, keep the anecdotes with themselves. Some, however, walk the path less travelled. The tale makes round among the generations to come and, like ancestral property closely vouchsafed, perpetuates to become a saga. They (the parents) watch their kids grow, and the kids listen to how their parents grew. How I Met Your Mother talks about a father portraying to his children the picture he and his wife drew with extreme care: their love life!

Ted, the lead character, develops feelings for Robin and tries to woo her; they get into a relationship, go out, live together, and Ted, narrating the story to his children, tells that this is how he met their Aunt Robin! Scoff! A bunch of characters full of uncertainty in their relationships, all gone haywire, does not let you feel a sigh of relief. The suspense, comedy, drama comes all trickling down and you keep expecting that there will be an answer at least by the end of this episode; there seems to be none, not too many. Every passing episode, every ending season, you want more. Such is the brilliancy of this sitcom told in a smooth, perfect way, that you never seem to get yourself out of it.
