Every year as the NCAA announces how the Round of 64 brackets will look, people get fired up for a non-stop weekend of basketball. There are least four games going simultaneously, and the networks pick what you can view. This is where the need to watch March Madness online kicks in. What if your alma mater is across country, and your team is not playing in your assigned region for the tournament? Or worse, your team is shown in your area, but it was a blow away game, so they switch to a more competitive one? That might be good for the general population, but not for you.

For years people would complain and dream of the day when they can watch the games they feel like watching and not what CBS says they should watch. They do their best by staggering start times, and switching back and forth to tightly contested games, but even then, there are times it just is not an option to watch your guys play in those early rounds. Unless you live in the home city of your school, it is a hit and miss chance to watch your college team play in the round of 64 and even the round of 32.

Until recently, technology had not quite caught up, and the only way to watch March Madness online was with frequent score updates, and live play by play comments coming on the blogs. One year there were eight games I was keeping track of the scores, along the score bar across the top of the web page and the only way to get the current scores was to keep hitting the refresh button. The scores on the TV are so small and they flip by so fast it was just too hard to keep track.

Technology has improved to that there are options, not always free, but options to get live feeds directly to your computer. How cool this would be to have the television on, and then your laptop showing the game you really want to be watching. You could even have a couple screens going at once if you wanted to with the sound turned off. Just pick the one you want to listen to the announcers non-top analyzing. Now that would be an amazing way to watch March Madness online!

With all of the gadgets there are today with Internet access, the true basketball fan should be able to watch March madness online, wherever they happen to be, at work, in the doctor's office, and the line at the supermarket.
