Shark Tank follows aspiring entrepreneurs as they present various business ideas to moguls (known as "the sharks") in hopes of landing an investment in their ideas. Each week, ambitious entrepreneurs present their breakthrough business concepts to ruthless investors to convince them to invest in the concept.

The air in the Shark Tank gets emotionally charged between the Sharks and a daring entrepreneur when one of the Sharks is willing to part with $4 million dollars of his own money for a business -- the largest sum in the show's history. When the Sharks all like the idea from a young woman who rents toys in the same way as DVDs, they fight each other for a piece of it. Also, an extreme sports enthusiast introduces a hip, new product that has the Sharks hopping; and a man shows how his "Wake 'N Bacon" device provides an aromatic morning wake-up call. On the recycled TV game show, entrepreneurs get a chance to pitch their ideas, and possible investors choose to torpedo or buy into their dreams. The drama is in the deal negotiation. If a million-dollar idea ever passed through my head, I was doubtless too distracted by something I was eating or some music I was listening to or the way the dust played in a shaft of sunlight to notice it. Or if I did notice it, I likely dismissed it as ridiculous or requiring the sort of effort that was ultimately not as interesting to me as finding something new to eat or listen to or simply regarding the dust in the sun.
