After that, Faraday accepts an offer to work at a private security firm named ARK, owned and managed by Peter Fleming, an one-of-a-kind billionaire and entrepreneur. ARK aims to make the Palm City Police Department privatize their public safety operations. An investigative blogger known as Orwell receives an e-mail which leads him to work hand-in-hand with Faraday, with his partner Marty Voyt, they set foot to look for a cargo train owned by Fleming's firm.

Their leader, Max Malini endows Faraday a cape for defense against his intended foes. He names himself The Cape, after his little boy's favorite comic book hero.
