Watch The Next Three Days Part 1 Online Free

It really is too bad that writer/director Paul Haggis's next film, The Next Three Days, is going up against Harry Potter next weekend because the movie is actually very good but it will be destroyed by the pop culture phenom. It has been a very long time since we've seen an American "prison break" type film but this one shows some promise not only with a solid script and director but also with the talent attached to the film, namely Russell Crowe, Liam Neeson and Elizabeth Banks, who wasn't half bad.

Anywho, Paul Haggis, the guy that directed Crash, has a nack for understanding how to create a storyline that can keep your attention even during the slower portions of the film. He manages to guide Russell Crowe back to his old form after a lackluster performance in Robin Hood and create a character who is bit more reserved yet ferociously determined, something that we haven't seen in Crowe since A Beautiful Mind. Russel Crowe and Elizabeth Banks do an amazing job together, showing the true dynamic of a struggling, grieving couple. Crowe's character, does not have super human strength, tons of money or a massive amount of intelligence, he's a regular person like the audiences that will watch him this weekend. He doesn't have a criminal past or an evil twin brother, but he's smart, observant and can defy authority, which will make audiences grow to love him. You see great character development up until the very end. Most films have the characters completing impossible feats without any consequences, this film is much more realistic by depicting human error, understanding, and realization.

The Bad This isn't technically bad, it's just that we wanted more. That's what happens when you have a good product. If you're a big fan of Olivia Wilde, Liam Neeson and Brian Dennehy don't expect a whole lot of dialogue from their characters in the movie. All three of these actors have minor, although pivotal roles, and fulfill them well. As for the ugly, there isn't any.
