On the eve of Blue moon, an occult power within the grotto transports them into present day Central Park in New York. A married couple (played by Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays) give them shelter and help them find their way back to the village before Gargamel finds them. The film essays a unique bond between the Smurfs and the humans. The animation and graphics of this movie are a visual delight. The movie will be releases in multiple formats including the 3D.
