Woody (Tom Hanks) Buzz (Tim Allen) are back in "Toy Story 3". When Andy heads off to college, all of his toys except Woody are donated to a daycare, which turns out to be a nightmarish prison filled with rough-playing toddlers and ruled by a malevolent bear named Lotso (Ned Beatty). Woody must pull out all the stops to rescue his friends from the slammer, but Lotso and his toy thugs are determined to stop him.

When I was in college, it cost four dollars to see movies in prime time. Nowadays, you can't even go to a matinee for four dollars. Imagine my joy now that films like "Toy Story 3" are made available online. Since many streaming sites offer select titles in HD, and major brands of flat screen TVs include an input for your computer monitor, you can now stream movies on the big screen in your own home. Throw in your own popcorn, and enjoy movie night for a fraction of the cost of going out.

As a fan of the first two "Toy Story" films, I was enthralled with "Toy Story 3". Like its predecessors (especially "Toy Story 2"), the action moves at break-neck pace, mixing thrills and laughs for the kids with moments of poignant reflection that will bring grown-ups to tears. There are many side-splitting laughs and some nail-biting moments of suspense, but it is the underlying theme of enduring life's changes that will resonate with most viewers. "Toy Story 3" is that rarest of summer fare, a popcorn movie with a heart. I give it my highest recommendation.
